Wonderful Karen--so many white pelicans! I've seen one in SE Arizona, at a golf course pond in nearby Sierra Vista. I got caught sneaking onto the fairway...
And I love the wobble description of TVs--I'll look for that (I ID them by the way they hold their wings, what some call the "practiced V"). We celebrate their arrival in Bisbee every March with a parade and food and costumes.
There were so many lines that I loved today; a substack full of depth. It is one of my favorites! Thank you for sharing the hard earned wisdom you have gained. We are so blessed to have you in our lives.
Such a wonderful post Karen! Perhaps we are all like those young brown and fuzzy pelicans waiting for things to get black and white! I want you to know that I had to change my t-shirt after spilling tea down my front when reading your " ...the fish was this BIG!" line with your wonderful pic!!! :-)
Love the whole pelican series of pics! I don't suppose anyone will ever write a Pelican Lake symphony (ala Swan Lake), but I wish someone would. There is something regal about them!!!
