Orioles sing, thistle and chamomile bloom. I’m so glad there are still some spaces that have not been mowed.

Hello friends! Spring is stretching into summer and we are starting to enjoy the late spring treats like broccolini and sugar snap peas. In the fields all the flowers big and small bloom and butterflies are starting to emerge.

My dad and I went to Powell Gardens (botanical garden) for my birthday, so today I’m going to include some of the lovely flowers and butterflies we saw there along with some of the “wilder” flowers. Hope you enjoy!

The orange butterflies were definitely attracted to the orange flowers. This is a fritillary of some variety.

One of the many skippers that are out now - I don’t know my skipper varieties though!

I had no idea there were so many varieties of foxglove.

I think they said this was another foxglove - but my phone app seems to disagree so I’m not sure. I just loved the color!

They had a literal rainbow of snapdragons - I love snapdragons! I think they look happy and I just loved playing with them as a kid.

I found these tiny flowers called “dayflowers” on my walk. Tiny flowers with tiny bees and what looks like more tiny flowers inside the flower.

Lots of thistle everywhere! They really are beautiful in all their stages.

To have all these flowers you have to have rain and we even had a (very brief) rainbow!
