This week was filled with too many things, confusing things, miscommunications, too much to do - the way life is. And…
This week the oak trees turned. All at once. As if someone announced to all of them at the same time, “it is time”. There was orange everywhere I looked.
This week the maple tree in my front yard turned red and I watched the sun light up the leaves like stained glass.
This week I found a sunflower - or rather an upside-down acorn lid looking for all the world like a sunflower. I don’t know if I’ve ever seen an acorn lid do that before.
This week the trees put on a show. I always say the birds wear their party clothes in the spring but the trees wear their party clothes in the fall. Right now they are asking us all to dance with them.
This week I watched clouds that looked for all the world like someone had painted them with a huge paintbrush across the sky.
This week there were still Franklin’s gulls and I watched them soar above me, circling across the sky. I imagined how peaceful it must be like to soar like that, above the noise.
This week there were maple seeds surrounded by orange leaves - and then today I noticed the seeds are still there but the leaves had all fallen to the ground.
This week I discovered the new macro capabilities on my iPhone are really fun to use with fall leaves!
This week the sky was filled with clouds and shapes in a way that felt uplifting.
This week a single leaf landed in just the right place with just the right light to sparkle with dew.
This week was a good week in all these small ways. This week I was blessed to notice.

These picture and word combos are incredible! I too have been lit up and renewed by autumn's glory in these last days - just so beautiful. Thank you for sharing - I love the invitation to dance with the trees, and the acorn sunflower :)
Your words and images are such a gift. Thank you for finding and sharing the beauty, even when, and especially when, life is hard
