“Gratitude training is like sifting through the mud and finding gold gems.” - Lee Holden
I laughed a little at the quote above because it’s so true. I had a local friend ask me where I take my photos and when I told her she said, “Wait, we go there all the time but I don’t see what you see!” Isn’t that the way it is?
There are things I look past and around to take the photos I take. There is (way too much) trash, there is noise from the two major highways nearby, sometimes there are events that block access like the recent marathon and the upcoming fireworks. Some days it would be easy to look around and think there is nothing here to photograph - yet there always is. There is always something of beauty, something to be grateful for, something unexpected. It really is like a treasure hunt.

Fantastic imagery... My nature walks the past few days have been utterly void of almost everything - except, of course, the endless rain. There was a brief pause yesterday - just long enough to spot a lone kingfisher on the prowl...and that was enough to make the day a joy.
If the rain continues tomorrow, I will pull up this newsletter and spend my time looking at your beautiful photos.
