“But the way I see it, we’re all poems. I think we all have a poem in us.” - Joel Leon
Sunrise November 16, 2023
I took this week off. I have a long to-do list that’s been growing for weeks I kept saying, “I’ll do that in my week off.” So far though, instead of doing any of it, I’ve been resting. Turns out I needed rest more than anything on my to-do list needs to be done. My body let me know it's been too long since I took several days to do nothing. I’d forgotten how much I need that pause. I was looking as tired as this barred owl:
Putting together this newsletter is the only item on today’s agenda! Enjoy.
Sharp-shinned hawk flying through the trees.
This is the only time of year I see the big bucks. They really are so regal in the dawn light.
It was nice of Mrs. kingfisher to rattle at me and let me know she was coming!
The sunrise has definitely taken on a more wintery appearance. (November 16, 2023)
I have questions to little Franklin’s gull. So many head-scratchers. Though if I tried to do that “in flight” it wouldn’t be so elegant.
I used to look at bluejays and see mostly noise. Now I see those gorgeous feathers!
This was taken a few weeks ago, before the backdrop turned orange and brown.
This big buck had a female kind of cornered against the lake. I think she got around him though.
I love the way crow feathers turn gold in the light of the rising sun.
Tufted titmouse peek-a-boo.
Nothing says winter photography to me like pied-billed grebes in pink water.
Take good care friends, whatever that means for you this week.
