I think I was gifted a motto for this year in a conversation this week with my boss. He said, “You need to give yourself some grace.” I’m going to draw that and hang it up somewhere I will see it! I’ve been working on self-compassion for so long now but I still need to be reminded. A lot. Perfectionism has a way of sneaking in where I don’t see it.

Gadwalls on a small pond. This pond will probably be frozen next week!
And a closeup of those male gadwalls. I also love the way the water reflections look in this pond, even if I rarely have a chance to photograph a bird in them.
After lots of gray, this was when the clouds broke in mid-afternoon. I think it looks like a bird soaring upwards.

Finally a bit of winter! Remind me I said that when I’m complaining about the bitter cold and snow in a couple weeks.
Hearts are everywhere in nature. Nature knows how to give herself grace.
