It was 15 F this morning with no wind and it felt so warm! I can’t wait to process and share the photos of little ducks I was able to take while the lake was frozen. With the way this winter is going, it may melt next week and that might be it - who knows? Every year we can only take what comes and this year surely is like no other.

I will love sharing winter photos while I can, and then if we are back to little winter birds in the trees I will enjoy that too. Here are some favorites for today:

Sunrise January 14, 2024 - it was insanely cold and I admit I sat in my car to watch it!

Every time I look at this I think they look like they are on a teeter-totter, lol. (Dark-eyed junco and northern cardinal)

Snow and ice really can make everything beautiful.

The colors were a surprise!

A few more cattails because I love them.

I don’t think I’ve ever seen ice quite like this. It’s amazing how different it is every time!
