Hello friends! I committed to rest, then found myself wide awake last night. That necessitated more resting today. Curious. We made it through another round of storms and my dad’s power is back on. This storm season can be over any minute now, whew.

Here are some moments of beauty for today:

It’s nesting season, aka harass your local predator season. (Bluejay and red-tailed hawk.)

Goldfinches are especially gorgeous in the spring.

Tiny mushrooms make me wonder who lives there?

This photo shows you that Sunday’s baby duck photo was taken a couple weeks ago - they grow fast (though this is a different family). If you look at these two photos together, can you see how naturally duckling #2 just moves out of the way as duckling #1 stretches?

The best thing about getting behind on photos is I get to be surprised when I go through them. I didn’t even remember getting such a lovely view of a northern parula!

When you get the perfect wing spread, in focus, and of course it’s in front of an awkward background. But hey, I don’t catch this often on a tree swallow so I will take it!

Sometimes you just gotta shake it off. (spotted sandpiper)
