"We are magical beings floating about, asking if our magic is ever good enough" - Stella Amador
Hello friends. How is it December already? I swear it was just…well…last December! It’s been a whirlwind day, the first day back after a week off. Luckily I had a walk in the trees with the robins and cedar waxwings before I had to dive into that mountain of email.
Here are some moments of beauty for today:
Sunrise, December 1, 2024
First purple finch of the winter! I don’t think I saw any last winter so this is an exciting start!
I wonder what kind of weird creature I look like to him in all my winter gear?
Found another winter friend, a brown creeper! I saw very few of them last year too.
They may be a blur, but that’s the first time I’ve ever photographed a brown creeper’s wings.
It’s never too cold for a robin bath in the morning, unless the water is frozen.
I guess the benefits of an ice bath extend to robins.
“Splish splash I was takin a bath…”
Looking very dapper my friend.
Our first snow was just a dusting, but it created some lovely artwork.
Cormorant caught a fish.
Cormorant looks like batman when he dives.
Because every fall post MUST have a bluebird, lol.
Caught this amazing sun pillar at sunset!
Let’s spend our days looking for and expecting joyful moments to randomly appear.

I also can't believe that it is December again!
Thanks for the sunrise.
