Hello friends! I was blessed to spend time with my family on Christmas, and now I’m in my post-Christmas recovery period where all I want to do is hibernate. We’re having a gray and misty week so the hibernation plan seems even more appropriate.
Here are some photos for today:
“Sunrise” on December 23, 2024. We’ve had a lot of days where the sun didn’t poke through this much!
What we lack in sunshine, we make up for in cedar waxwings!
I try to be sooooo quiet, but the goldeneyes are having none of it so far.
At least he was nice enough to do a flyby.
Kinglet eyeing the christmas cookies (poison ivy berries).
Juncos like the dry grasses.
I can count on the robins to keep things lively.
Actually caught one on take-off! I have tried many (many) more times than I have been successful!

Bluebird, mid-air!
As long as we’re going with mid-air, wings-down photos, might as well add ms. mallard.
It looks like a rather dangerous perch for this yellow-rumped warbler to be jumping into.
My eared grebe friend is still hanging around and I still can’t believe I got such lovely photos of him.
My horned grebe friend is like, “Oh yeah, well check out my shimmy!”
