Happy New Year friends! I am so out of rhythm, I was busy thinking about Sunday’s post and almost skipped right past this one! Remembered just in the nick of time!

Every year it takes the juncos a few months to settle in before they start posing properly. We seem to have reached that point!

My bluebird friend was like, hang on a minute, let me get comfortable.

I love photographing ice on the edge of the lake, but I’m not a fan when it falls from the sky. Really hoping our weekend storm is snow and not ice!

The first bird I saw in 2025 was a great horned owl. The second was a common goldeneye, right before they all flew. Such skittish little birds.

This shot of the moon was taken two weeks ago. I love the moon in all her phases.

Geese heading wherever it is they head at the end of every day. It’s January 2nd and I still haven’t seen or heard a single snow goose this year.
