Hello friends! I’m really feeling that quote above this week so I thought I’d start with my favorite photo from the week, a photo of softness. (And yes, that feather is floating on the water! I do love when light and shadow play well together.)
Today I’m highlighting the ring-necked duck who made an appearance at our frozen duck party and adding a few ice photos as well. Hope you enjoy!
Do you see him there, looking like a giant among the hooded mergansers?
He’s really quite a handsome duck! Nice of him to return in better light.
You can see he’s a bit bigger than a pied-billed grebe.
Not sure what he’s looking for down there.
He didn’t stay long, but it was nice of him to pose. I kept hoping he would show that very hard to see dark purple line on his neck.
And then he did, when he took off!
Very photogenic against those brown leaves.
One last view of his wing and then he was gone.
Someone left a heart-shaped paw print in the ice.
With our winter seeming to get shorter and shorter, I want to take in every beautiful ice creation I can find.
This is the zoomed-out view of the ice creations I was looking at.
Some things just need to be looked at more closely to really see their splendor.
