Beautiful, Karen. The wings in flight are, as you well know, my favorites. Wings. Sure they can be explained, but that doesn’t make them any less of a miracle.
Orion is right. Find something you love to fill your time. If I may be so nosy and bold, I sense by some of your comment that your work life is wearing you to the nubs. Perhaps it's the cause of your physical malaise. You are such a talented photographer and naturalist, would it be possible to create a career with both? In my area, there is a photographer named John T. Humphreys who spends most of his days photographing the wild horses herds to the east of town and even taking tourists out to meet them. He posts much of his work on the Pine Nut Wild Horse Advocates Facebook page and knows the names of all the horses. We've met him wandering about the range in his Jeep. He sells his photos and charges for tours and photography outings to the range. About a year ago, several acres of the range was purchased by a natural wild horse conservation group and hired J.T. to be the "range manager." Can you believe such a serendipitous blessing. Gee, Brer Bear ... don't throw me in that briar patch. Anyway, this is just an example of what's possible for people like you who can take control of their destiny and time. It's scary and challenging, but WOW, it could save your life. Hugs, Karen.
What would we do without our daily walks to practice our terraphilia and soak up Vitamin N (as some physicians call nature exposure)? I am so glad you have the beauty of the lake and the sunrise and your beloved birds to buoy you through these difficult times. And thank you for sharing that beauty and joy and lift with us. Many blessings to you, Karen!
Taking in That sunrise series! Along with the birds of October where you live as certainly a sweet treat! So much to love and learn here! That is also a sweet treat! Wishing you a Sweet Week!
Wow!!! The colors in the pre dawn sky….glorious!!! I find sweetness in 4 granddaughters as grandma’s taxi picks up from school and take/pickup from swimming or dance and watching them cheer at football games and watch them compete in softball and swimming…❤️😍🥰👍
The birds seem to have mostly up and left here in Michigan, so they must have come to see you! I’ve seen hardly any except for some hawks. They’re smarter than us.😊
Karen, how do you truly monetize what you love doing so that it financially supports you without stealing the joy? I believe you are more than bright enough to figure that out...
Certainly a possibility but Karen may want to find a business coach she trusts who can mentor her and help develop a workable & profitable business plan. Just my thoughts...
Karen has great talent and an incredible work ethic. Now she needs a business plan.
Hi Clark! I wonder if the city/county/state where Karen lives would consider paying her a stipend for providing them with pictures and content about their area? Don't know if that would appeal to Karen. But, they certainly would get value for their money! Heck some people might consider moving there for the sunrises alone!

Totally agree, thank you Switter!
Very sweet, Karen. Our Yellow-rumped Warblers just arrived too, but still waiting on the first Junco!
Juncos are definitely late this year. I've only seen a few.
“I think wings are one of the most marvelous parts of creation.” I agree! But don’t ask me to pick a favorite, each bird is uniquely amazing.
A triptych of a watercolor sky.
The silhouette of the Barred owl, what a gorgeous photograph.
And a lovely narrative. Sweet is an Autumn breeze, playing in the branches. Sending gold ,burgundy, crimson and orange, dancing above my head.
Thank you Lor!

Thank you Clark. That would be lovely.
The return of the humble juncoes is a sweet harbinger of the transition toward winter’s embrace.
Thank you Jim
What a lovely treatise on autumn! I’m looking forward to seeing the yellow-rumped warblers and white-throated sparrows again! Thank you.
Thank you Cathy
