I’m still mulling balance and it’s related words like regulation and harmonizing. I’ve written lengthy dissertations on various ideas around balance as I’m exploring the different kinds of balance in my life. As I was writing, I was reminded that I often get caught up in learning, understanding, and “working at” something and I forget to play and enjoy. This is a place I really need to bring some balance!
Two weeks with my camera in dry dock, while my collarbone and neck healed, haven’t exactly helped as being out with my camera is one of the few places I tend to play! So when I saw the forecast for two cool days I decided to let the writing go and just go out and play in nature a bit. All to say, this week’s photo essay will be mostly photos without much essay and I am going to focus on experiences that evoke FUN!
I hope you have enjoyed today’s post and found some fun in your weekend!

Oh, I love all these photos, Karen! Do the orchard orioles take off for the south just as soon as the babies can feed themselves? I was always amazed by the Bullock's and hooded orioles I knew in CO and NM. They were the first to disappear, in early August. I always questioned the orioles' parenting choices: were those babies really ready for thousands of miles of flying?? :-D
