Lyrics to a song I learned in children's Sunday school over 70 years ago. It seemed so apt for your post yesterday. I love the part about "though the wrong seems oft so strong, God is the ruler yet."
By the time I had finished scrolling and pausing through this post, a "hush of calm" had come over my body and soul. Thank you for providing this cocoon.
Such a tender way to capture what often goes unsaid. Sometimes being wrapped in stillness is the only thing that makes sense when words fail and the world feels too loud. I remeber one morning last winter just watching ice patterns form on a window pane and it grounded me in a way nothing else could. These quiet moments with the gull on water and that bluebird really do speak louder than explanations.
Solice in beauty...perfect Karen. This morning I walked the canyon after a weekend that gave us more than 3 inches of rain. The creeks flow with the soothing sounds of water...at last. A little peace of mind.
The cold, the trauma of recent events, the grief and fear and anger.... This life feels harsh and hard. And your words and images are a soft blanket, a slow flush of beauty this morning, Karen. Thank you.
Yes…definitely want to hibernate from the world!! The temperatures have been dropping slowly for 2 days and we bottomed out at 12 degrees…very cold for Texas…not as frigid as Kansas City…lovely photos Karen❤️😍👍
Your photos with comments cure!!!
Thank you Jill!

This is my Father’s world,
And to my list’ning ears
All nature sings, and round me rings
The music of the spheres.
This is my Father’s world:
I rest me in the thought
Of rocks and trees, of skies and seas—
His hand the wonders wrought.
This is my Father’s world:
The birds their carols raise,
The morning light, the lily white,
Declare their Maker’s praise.
This is my Father’s world:
He shines in all that’s fair;
In the rustling grass I hear Him pass,
He speaks to me everywhere.
This is my Father’s world:
Oh, let me ne’er forget
That though the wrong seems oft so strong,
God is the ruler yet.
This is my Father’s world,
The battle is not done:
Jesus who died shall be satisfied,
And earth and Heav’n be one.
That reminds me of Anne Lammott saying, "Grace bats last."

That owl. What a soul gaze…
Thank you Jim
Yes, cold “ice will melt,”
perhaps sooner with our help?
“This is what light does.”
Marisol, I so needed this. Thank you. With your permission, could I use it as the quote in Tuesday's post?
Dear, use whatever, whenever, wherever; no need to ask ever.
Thank you!
