I enjoyed reading this entire share. I post a gratitude every evening before I fall asleep, so I remind myself that even the toughest day has something worth gratitude.
However this particular part is so very poignant for me right now: “The leaves remind me that there’s a season for everything and even as something is dying, something else is being born.” My father is fighting cancer again. He is very changed by it. I am about to see him right before a very new treatment procedure. He is a force. He always has been. In the midst of his battle, my first grandchild is growing and becoming the next generation. It is sad, happy, and beautiful all at once. I am losing my father while gaining a grandchild. It makes for rough seas in the flow of love inside my heart. Anyway, thanks for your beautiful words and photos. It helps a heart have peace and joy.
Mmmm, yes, that's it exactly. My heart goes to you as you move through this with your father. I'm so glad your heart will be buoyed by your grandchild. And yes, rough seas.
In “a world that moves way too fast,” I am grateful for this post that reminds me of what is truly important. Thank you so much. It is exactly what I needed to read this morning.
Thank you Vasant and thank you for linking your post! I have them all over there in my inbox and I haven't gotten to way too many! I hope to read this one tomorrow.
Thank you for your flood of gratitude. Indeed, abundance of the natural world is what you so poetically share with each of us. A dose of gratitude is a misnomer. You awake us with a humility and gentleness that opens the heart to receive and to give. Now Karen, that is no small feat.
One of your best posts ever! I particularly loved your inner "mantra": "Get up; let's go; there's an adventure ahead!" Perfect! And you ARE loved indeed! ;-)
Such a lovely post. And yes, I do love your favorite tree! To have the never ending perfect balance of a Junco would be so grand! As it is getting cooler here, I have taken to wearing my pretty home made Covid masks out to feed the birds in the morning. Seems a perfect use for them to keep my face and nose warm.
Thank you Sandy! I agree, I find lots of uses for those masks. It was wearing masks during Covid that taught me I could breathe through my wool winter balaclavas!
I love your heartfelt post this morning, Karen. Your discussion of it being okay to change our pace is a message I needed to hear. As I see all your bird species, I imagine you live in Heaven, Nature’s other name.
Very grateful for my family near and far…have always felt loved during the ups and downs of life….grateful for your talent in sharing photos of nature and your beautiful heart…grateful for my health and my life in retirement….grateful for parents who raised me to love nature and the outdoors…❤️😍🥰👍
I'm thankful for you, Karen, and all the wonderful birds you introduce me to. Their beauty and the beauty of where they live is so wonderfully captured with your camera. "This sentinel" tree inspires me to draw and maybe transfer that drawing to a linocut (if I can find my supplies). Such beauty in ornithology.
