So glad you gave yourself permission to sit and enjoy the perfect weather on your porch and also at the lake….it’s good to change up the routine….some of my happiest memories are just sitting on the porch with my Dad… just enjoying nature watching and listening… no talking… just soaking it in…your hammock chair sounds awesome ❤️😍👍
I call that sitting on the deck in your new comfy spot feeding your spirit. Your very kind and loving spirit. And I love that you are doing it!
My gramma used to go outside and sit on her wide porch under huge pecan trees to get away from the air-conditioning. She had grown up in Baton Rouge long before air-conditioning and she never quite got used to it. I sat with her a few times and listened to the cicadas and generally took in how different Baton Rouge felt from the Pacific Northwest. She had raised nine children who all adored her with her quiet gentle ways.
I'm so happy for you that you got a breath of fresh air and opted to enjoy it! The hammock chair "sounds" delightful for all that wonderful deep listening. Great investment!
Your words cause me to take flight today. Your inner singer; as a child, my mom used to sing to me , only that one line, whenever she was buttoning up a sweater or winter coat. Cool mornings, the joy of adding a layer, more to come. And the chair, obviously the perfect investment.
Lesson of the day, or a lifetime;
“There really isn’t time for “doing nothing” and enjoying myself - but then again, there really isn’t time not to.”
I love your images and your words. What a wonderful way to practice self care.
Thank you Jennifer!
Amazing photos, as always. Those barn swallows are some of my favorites!
Thank you Mary!

Thank you Sharon! I love that you could sit like that with your dad.
Your hammock chair sounds amazing. Thank you for beautifully sharing your day with us
Thank you Cali!
So important to be able to be flexible. Self-care comes packaged with self-love, beauty, and the now.
Thank you. Flexible is one of my biggest challenges!
I understand and it challenges me too.
My morning happy time. Thank you.
I love the indigo buntings when they come through here. They don’t stay long, unlike the starlings.
I am willing to trade all our hot smoky weather for 1/4 of your weather. Deal?
Lol - no deal, but I do hope both the heat and the smoke abate soon for you. I'd surely send you some cool air if I could!
4 months from now I’ll be complaining about all the snow and cold, which is nice to have different things to complain about. I’m grateful for that.
What a beautiful share. Thank you!
Thank you Patricia
Always like the images Karen. That photo of the hummingbird looking at would-be intruders is perfect!
Thank you Neil
Ooh, a hammock chair. Very tempting. Loving the cool weather here in Indiana, too.
Thank you Robyn - enjoy yours while it lasts too!

Feeding your spirit - yes, I love that. And I love that story about your gramma!

Your nature photography is, as ever, stunning.
