Sometimes I can’t help myself. I need to go back for a second look.
With all the blistering discussions going on about the ghastly old man in France and what he did to his wife, it’s comforting to be reminded that there are a few species out there where the females are the bad guys: the preying mantis, the black widow, the . . . Kind of cold comfort, actually.
Sending Cheryl hugs~ I hope she us feeling better soon ~ love the pictures this morning ~ Chimney swifts~ photo is amazing ~ thank you Karen blessings for your day
Sending prayers and healing energy, whom I think I "know" from her posts to ODD and KD. She seems like a lovely person and already a friend of sorts. I wish her well.
Sending a big healing hug to your friend Cheryl. With every wish that she is feeling better soon. I hope she is able to see all of your wonderful photos today and enjoy your morning walk as we have. Lovely post Karen! I enjoyed everyone's comments, too!
I never thought of the fall transition/migration being so much slower. Thank you. That is what I am feeling and it actually feels luscious. Slowing down has so many benefits that I couldn't even consider when I was younger.
What an amazing sunrise you captured, as well as all of the birds and insets. Praying mantis is one of my favorites and their camouflage is remarkable. Beautiful photos as always.
That world is always out there, always ready to capture our attention, always eager to turn our thoughts toward the beautiful, and away from our worries and troubles.

Yes! I have laughed a few times thinking of things my younger self thought were silly or weird that now I think are deeply enjoyable.
Year after year, century after century, we're all migrating.
