The hummingbird moth, the least piper, and the birds in flight showing off the aeronautical engineering, which is pretty much all the pictures, were my favorites.
I forgot to mention it, but the rocket lark photo looked like a watercolor when it was printed. I love it. Thank you for sharing it.
As the birds and sunrises await their turn, I visualize you in a Wonder Woman cape and the camera of your dreams zooming into 2024! Be well Karen. You have added so much happiness and hope and beauty to my 2023. May the force be with you! 😉 🥰
1. Thank you for a year of beauty and inspiration, concluded with your photos here. 2. Nurturing and nourishment is a great motto. I will remember that. 3. I hope your challenges lessen and smooth out in 2024, Karen. Hearing that you've been struggling just makes all the wonder and beauty you share here even more precious. Thank you again, and may you be well in bodymindspirit this coming year.
Thank you so much Jeanne! This afternoon I discovered something called neurographic art (specifically neurographica). Most meditative thing I have ever done. It's a start!
Karen, I so understand the stress of life My son came over two days ago and told me he had blood cancer~ it’s not a death sentence ~ but very difficult situation for him to go thru~and all of his family he will need bone marrow testing soon~ I realized ~ I am stronger than I ever knew~ it’s so painful~ but we will get thru this~ don’t be hard on yourself~ life isn’t easy ~but we are survivors ~ I had 5 hummingbirds come for water today~ it’s a beautiful miracle ~I using only have one or two~ an other gift keeping you in prayer my sweet girl~ just be kind to yourself ❤️
Oh Catherine, I know you do. But I love that you can also feel the strength. And I love your hummingbirds! I will get through my challenges too. And I have no doubt I'm being guided to learn things I will use going forward in my life too. The rapids are the hard part, and once you make it through, with a little luck, hopefully there's a nice placid lake waiting somewhere (for a little while).
Thanks Katie! I will sell prints on a one-off basis if someone is interested - you can just email me. But I don't have a site or do it very often (so I'm just ordering commercial prints). One of my little secrets is that I really don't have a very big camera so my photos are often fairly heavily cropped. Some of them could be printed at size reliably and some I wouldn't have any faith in the quality. So I just tell people if you are interested in one let me know and I can check to see if it can be printed in the size you want.
We can do this together. I get very frustrated about how I am. But at the same time I know that I am creating a deep foundation for the next phase of my life. Lots of love. Do you fancy a zoom chat soon?
I like your point on learning about resiliency in Nature. This is something I think about constantly on my hikes. I find the year-round birds to show this resiliency to me every time I encounter them. Black-capped Chickadees are my teachers about resiliency in Nature. :)
Awesome photos and that video of the Starlings is incredible. I like watching and listening to Starlings - their bleeps and whistling remind me of R2D2. That head-on photo of the Least Sandpiper is amazing.
For 2024, my focus is to expand my knowledge of the Natural world. I am focusing on learning more about trees and plantlife as I am not really knowledgeable in both areas.
As I was scrolling down through the photos, I came to the cutline about "shorebirds." Then I looked at the picture, and before I read the next cutline, I said to myself, "Those are Karen's beloved avocets!" A year ago, I wouldn't have known that! But you have taught me so much about birds and nature in general, and it has all been pure gift! Blessings for a New Year as we continue to "walk in beauty" in this amazing world together.
Thank you for sharing your year of splendid with us. 💞

I love that( placid lake)❤️
Your photos are gorgeous. Do you sell prints online? I’m a bird person 😊🕊️

Happy New Year and thank you for sharing your thoughts and reflections, and beautiful photos!
Thank you Patricia
Happy New Year. Please take care of yourself. I think we are both in a state of deep transition, but this is not an easy lesson!
Thank you Cali! I'm doing the best I can - and no it is not! I think of you a lot when I'm thinking about self-care.

A beautiful year from a beautiful person… love you my niece ❤️😍🥰👍
Thank you Aunt Sharon (sniff sniff, wet drops from my eyes). I love you so much.

Yes to chickadees and resiliency! Oh, I love that you are learning about trees and plant life! I have lots to learn in that area too.
Thank you Karen for sharing your gifts so generously. Happy New Year to you and yours.
Thank you Julie!
You're so welcome.
