“Trust the music you feel, the rhythm doesn’t lie.” - source unknown
Hello friends! It is hot, hot, hot. The heat index at 5:30 this morning (before sunrise) was 88F and it was like walking into a bowl of soup. Not many photos will be taken this week!
Luckily last week was cool so today I’m going to give you the “sandpiper experience”. One of my favorite things is when a little sandpiper will decide to just hang out near me on the shore and this little spotted sandpiper did exactly that last week:
Whatever you are facing this week - and I know so many are facing heat, floods, tropical storms, earthquake and who knows what else - sending love and hoping you find safety and then can drop beneath the waves and find moments of peace.
These posts are going to all subscribers through the fall equinox. If you’re reading and you haven’t subscribed, now is a great time!
Yesterday, my daughter sent me a striking close up photo of a hummingbird making a buffet of her honeysuckles that she grew specifically for hummingbirds.
Yours is one of four publications here that I look forward to each week, because they soothe my soul. They take me to the good, peaceful world I wanted to live in and diminish the memories of the hard world I actually inhabited.
For example, when I saw your photos in today’s article, I started thinking about scarlet breasted rollers, hammerkops, and two secretary birds who somehow ended up in our front yard. I think of the fish eagles, the grey laury go-away birds and the delightful little hoopoes. I think of these beautiful creatures and it diminishes other less pleasant experiences.
Beautiful, as always...and a great quote!
