“Once upon a time, when women were birds, there was the simple understanding that to sing at dawn and to sing at dusk was to heal the world through joy.” - Terry Tempest Williams, “When Women Were Birds”
Hello friends! Today we’re moving from the warmest winter I can remember into possibly the coldest four-day stretch in Kansas City history. I’m hoping I’m moving from a period of unusual business into a four-day rest. I am looking forward to making my way through the snow photos I took this week and then settling in with some cooking, some meditation, some drawing, and maybe some just listening to nature sounds while I sip some tea.
Here are some moments of beauty for today:
Take good care friends! Stay warm and safe, or if you are on the other side of the world stay cool and safe.
So we all
Have the innate power
To self resonate.
Birds sing to one another
Because they already knew
Some of the melodies
And were able to return the songs,
Or new interpretations,
Breathing them back
Into the air
So become a bird
And sing your notes.
I'm so jealous of your snow!! 💜
