It’s true! I love my time in nature and the wonderful feeling of seeing all these amazing treasures is multiplied when I get to share them! Here are some favorite moments for today:
Sunrise, April 10, 2024. Can you see the small swallow kissing the water?
I was watching this lovely buck down where the trail bends…
When suddenly his friend poked his nose out right in front of me!
First splash photo of the year - hopefully the first of many! (purple Martin)
Mama eagle returning to the nest. (I think, it appears to me the incoming eagle is larger.)
Followed by a conversation, perhaps about where the youngsters next meal was coming from. Or maybe this is just, “hi honey, I’m home” and “I’ve missed you, it’s hard to watch these three on my own”.
Loon flyby. I’m still hearing them out in the lake but they haven’t been frequenting my up close locations lately.

Bluebells carpeting the forest floor.
Some little clumps of bluebells are white. I don’t know why.
Oh mama duck. That is not the place to lay your egg! (literally right next to the gas pump on the dock, smh)
Saw this boat going into the water and had to ask what they were doing. They were headed out to sink trees and branches that had been cut down into the water for fish habitat. The Corps of Engineers, the county, the three surrounding cities, and Missouri Department of Natural Resources all play a part in maintenance of the park.

More splashes - there can never be too many splashes!
I’ve seen this beautiful owl on the light pole every morning when I leave. And I have to give props to Lightroom’s new “AI Denoise” capability because this was taken in the dark!
