“Oh, mother earth, your comfort is great, your arms never withhold. It has saved my life to know this.” - Mary Oliver, excerpt from “Loneliness”
Hello friends! It’s been a lovely week here and dry enough the lake has returned to normal levels. This time of year there is so much to catch my eye - plants, bugs, butterflies, and of course birds! Here are some photos for today:
Here’s what I wish for your weekend: May you make a difference for someone, no matter how small. May someone make a difference for you, no matter how big.
Thanks for being here!

As for your lovely wishes, unfortunately we have already started trying to make a difference today. Here in VT, we just received catastrophic rains. Flooding, roads and homes ,washed out, two human deaths, wildlife (no humans are counting). A great amount of damage. Exactly one year from our last destroyer. Climate change, a tough narrative to get used to.
Beautiful photos! Thanks for sharing!
Are you sure that wasn’t a paid dragonfly model?
Scene 1 Take 5/ Action/ cut.
All of your photographs are wonderful today.
