Hello friends! This full moon certainly came in with a bang. You know it’s been an odd week when I start quoting science fiction, lol. Fortunately, whatever else is happening, the birds are here to greet me just as they did yesterday and as they hopefully will tomorrow.
Here are a few choices for today. I definitely wanted to show you more of those rainbow cobwebs!
This was the photo where I first noticed how the colors appeared out of focus - only because there were two webs!

These might be the last purple martin photos I take this year. This morning when I walked down there I only found three purple martins where they had been 30+.
That youngster kept opening his mouth but no one was filling it!
Just a second while I take care of this itch.

Was there a bug or just water? We’ll never know.
Mr. chimney swift says, let me show you how it’s done!
You take your whole body through the water!
A much more satisfying splash, and a quick shower as well!
Chimney swift “buzzed the tower” (aka photographer) so we get a close up look.
Perhaps this series of photos will sho the differences between swifts, swallows and martins. This is a barn swallow in flight.
This is a cliff swallow - note the difference in the tail and the white spot on the head.
Chimney swifts have “cigar” bodies and “boomerang” wings.
Barn swallows have longer tails and notice the shape of their wings.
Purple martins are shaped more like barn swallows but their tails are shorter and their coloring is dark blue/purple (male) and brown and white (female).
There’s that full moon, queen of disruption.
This week I’m working on holding the energy of, “What if it all works out?” Trust is easy when the waters ahead look smooth. The trick is to find a way to trust when they don’t!

I saw a swallow, high, high in the air yesterday evening, then a buzzard came in low. A puzzling lack of birds recently-.maybe the prolonged drought here. Those were the only two birds I saw all day! I'm taking up plant-watching. At least they're reliably there each day!
