Hello friends! I’m starting off the week a little sleep deprived, but below average temperatures in August make for a lovely walk even if when I’m tired. A beautiful sunrise and bird friends help too!
Here are some moments for today:

August 15, 2024 - double hearts in the clouds
Barn swallow with morning bird qigong - wing extensions…
…tail feather side stretches…
…and a full double wing extension with a deep breath.
Great crested flycatcher - this photo almost looks like fall but it’s still summer!
Great crested flycatcher was posing so nicely. They usually hide from me at the tops of the trees and in the leaves so this was a bonus!
The look my little hummer friend gets when another hummingbird tries to sneak in to “his” feeder.
Standing out in a crowd. (barn swallows)
Barn swallows approach the water like fighter jets landing on a carrier…
…full speed in and through the water!
With a little splash on the way out! Judges rule, ten out of ten.
That’s one big youngster! First-year blue heron, you can tell by the brown coloring and the blue cap.
I rarely see them out of the water. Ribbit!
Dragonfly wings shine like prisms - and just like the spider webs, the colors are more pronounced when the wings are just a little out of focus!
