“Sometimes we need to do the best we can and then trust the unfolding.” - Sharon Salzberg
Hello friends! It felt good to get a few things done this weekend without too much stress. It’s amazing how heavy those tasks can start to feel! Meanwhile, it continues to be warm (but thankfully not hot) and dry here. We could sure use some rain and I hope some is coming later this week. Slowly but surely we are drifting towards fall.
Here are some favorite moments for today:
Perhaps this will give you some idea of how amazing a swirl of chimney swifts is - and how hard they are to photograph! Those are not bugs, those are chimney swifts:
Wishing you all ease in whatever presents itself in your world this week.

I had to laugh, your Kingfisher comparison to Underdog. Now this will be on repeat in my head today;
“There's no need to fear, Underdog is here!" ( I am considerably older, how do you even know this cartoon?)It is also the season to watch the Kingfisher here in Vermont . You may not be familiar with this line, it is a verse taken from a song called Grantchester Meadows by Pink Floyd. One of my favorites. I have always taken notice over the years that so many lyrics from my favorite artists , were born as poems.
“See the splashing Of the kingfisher flashing to the water
A river of green is sliding
Unseen beneath the trees
Laughing as it passes…”
Btw, I broke into song yesterday while hiking, “Just kicking down the cobblestones looking for fun and feeling groovy, Ba da-da da-da da-da, feeling groovy…”
Why are King Fishers so noisy when they fly? Most small birds are only that noisy when they want to warn of an intruder. But King Fishers remind me of a kid with a playing card pinned to his bike. Clackity-Clack-Clack! - Look At Me! 😊
