“Aging is an extraordinary process whereby you become the person you always should have been.” - David Bowie
Hello friends! It’s been a lovely, calm week. It’s funny, when I was young I might have said, “nothing exciting happened this week.” Now I relish the peacefulness of a calm week! To my friends in Florida and the surrounding areas, I’m sending as much calm your way as I can.
Today I’m doing a little ode to the sunrise and my ruby-throated friends. The sunrises are (hopefully) just getting going, as I usually think fall and winter are when mother nature displays her best sky paintings. The hummingbirds are about to leave, but so far I still have at least one visiting my feeder. Enjoy!
May your skies be calm but colorful and your waters be smooth. Thank you for being here!

There are two hummingbird photos where their little feet have just become airborne, the miraculous transition from being gravity bound and free as a bird. During my piloting years, I often watch the main landing gear tires for the instant when I stopped driving and started to fly.
May your life be filled with those miraculous moments, just like the little hummingbirds. “Houston, we have a liftoff.”

Look at the tongue on that hummer! Bring on the nectar in all the hidden places. Wishing you a spot of honey too this weekend.
