Hummingbirds are so interesting… I used to have a feeder for them when I lived in Missouri ❤️👍 so glad you had a calm week…fyi the hurricane missed my brother… he just had some tree branches in his yard … he’s on the Atlantic side 👍❤️🙏
I am Hummingbird lonely up here in VT. I have wished them safe travels, and told them we will be ready and waiting when they arrive next Spring. My feeders cleaned and stored. Even the bent wood hanger seems empty and lost .Thank you for all your wonderful photographs. Standing out even above the bird photographs, which is saying a lot, are your beautiful quotes;
“The moon and Jupiter were singing a lovely duet on Tuesday morning.”
As I watch the swirling trail of single black and white Loon feathers laying quietly across the water; I thought of your lovely quote;
“Floating into the weekend like a feather on calm water.”
Thank you Karen, I sincerely hope you are having a wonderful weekend.
Thanks Karen for sharing your beautiful images and words of calmness. While many others in Florida suffered loss from Helene, we miraculously were spared. Gratitude comes to mind.
Transitioning to Fall, from sunrises to bird migrations, is a wonderful part of your creativity. Thank you so much, Karen. J
There are two hummingbird photos where their little feet have just become airborne, the miraculous transition from being gravity bound and free as a bird. During my piloting years, I often watch the main landing gear tires for the instant when I stopped driving and started to fly.
May your life be filled with those miraculous moments, just like the little hummingbirds. “Houston, we have a liftoff.”
Thanks for all the calm and good energy you sent our way! Things calmed down considerably last night in South Florida, and I'm checking in with friends farther north and in GA, hoping for good reports from them. So happy to hear about your own calmer week! May we all it it that way for at lease a little while! ;-)
Helene really has been the ultimate dragon lady! I'm now concerned for a dear friend in Asheville, NC, where there is no landline, internet or cell service. To think a hurricane that started in the south Caribbean could wreak such havoc as far north as the Carolina and Tennessee mountains is unbelievable. But all you have to do is look at the news footage and there it is writ large! How much destruction is it going to take before we take climate change seriously?
I've just had an amazing morning watching the sunrise here in Lancashire, UK.
Love your photos. We don't get hummingbirds here so it's a joy to see these.
I'm glad you had an amazing morning! Thank you Janelle.

I'm glad the hurricane missed David! Thank you Aunt Sharon.

Thank you Lor - I love that you were watching loon feathers!
Look at the tongue on that hummer! Bring on the nectar in all the hidden places. Wishing you a spot of honey too this weekend.
Their tongues are amazing! Thank you Sandy.

Love that quote. Something to ponder
It is! I just heard it this week!
Always such beautiful work. The feather on the still water is breathtaking. Thank you for sharing your work!
