So much good stuff, Karen. In addition to woodpeckers and damselflies (what does the world look like to them?), the music was wonderful, too. Thank you, and I’m sending you some light from my heart.
Interesting that you see Carolina Wrens more often than House Wrens. Where I am, in southeast Iowa, Carolina Wren is a good bird on any day of the year. (And yes, House Wrens are good birds too, though they are very bad wrens to other nesting birds.)
Beautiful picture of the lake and the moon😍❤️👍. Terrible devastation from the hurricane and now this week the elephant nature park we visited years ago in Thailand is flooding from nearby river with more rain forecast (and they gave all animals…dogs, cats, horses. Water Buffalo etc😰💔🐶)
“As the bird song dwindles, I appreciate the noisemakers, like this red-bellied woodpecker, even more.”
I whole heartedly agree! Someone sing to me, anyone out there? The Canadian geese, Crows, Ravens, and Northern Flickers, answered in chorus. Ah, thank-you.
Thanks for blessing our day today, Karen. I really like how you bounded today’s post with music, from Kris Kristofferson to Melanie DeMore & Julie Woof. Your comments and observations, and wonderful photos, told a history spanning millennia. That you included a reference to all the suffering and destruction in the aftermath of Helene was quite thoughtful and compassionate.
I read your posts mostly in the morning and they feel like a Sun Salutation! Even on cloudy days. Many thanks, Karen.
Not that I know of! I didn't mean for it to sound ominous. My friend in the Appalachian mountains didn't think anything was coming a week ago either, so this was more just me sitting with how quickly and unexpectedly things can change. Didn't mean to worry you!

I'd love to be able to look through the eyes (and brain) of another creature! Wouldn't that be fascinating? Thank you Switter.
Here’s an interesting book while I try to find the one I have in my library: An Immense World: How Animal Senses Reveal the Hidden Realms Around Us
I have a book somewhere that explores exactly that. I’ll see if I can find it and send you the title.

Oh I'm so sorry to hear this about the elephant park! Prayers for all the human and non-human friends there.
Thx Karen👍❤️
thanks for sharing her songs! May her work and compassion spread far and wide. <3
Thank you Susi for sharing them with us! I'm listening to them on repeat.

Yes to all of those!
Really like that image of the sunset, Karen. Beautiful range is colours.
Thank you Neil

Thank you Gary
Baby bluebird sitting pretty! Try saying that five times fast!
Ha ha, I thought this week maybe I hadn't given you a tongue twister! :)
Good way to start the day. I do think the birds pose for you! Especially like the sunset pic. Wishing you a gentle day with a lighted path.
Thank you Sandy
Early dawn light. Wowzers!
Thank you Adrian
"...while I can"?? I hope that doesn't mean any dark clouds on the horizon Karen!

Ok! 🙂
