Psithurism: the sound of wind whispering through trees, the soft rustling of leaves.
Hello friends! Really hoping for a little rain here tonight, we are well beyond dry. Despite the dryness, I am enjoying watching the leaves fall. Here are some moments of beauty for your day:
I’m rarely the only one on the path in the morning.
Trees are turning.
Grackle had one acorn in his bill and was trying to figure out how to get the other one - do you see it.
Well, it’s been spotted by a friend.
Snagged it on the fly.
Success.
Mrs. red-bellied woodpecker was not happy, I’m guessing she’s the one that stored those acorns up there.
At least we had some clouds, so far no rain. (October 23, 2024)

Someone tell these irises it’s October! These are blooming in my neighbors yard, I can see them out my back window. First I saw one, then two and now there are three. I’ve never seen flowers over there before.
The crows seem more patient with me this time of year.
