I would love to see more bluebirds here in Utah. I think I’ve only seen a couple in the 30 years. I’ve lived here. Apparently they’re more in the higher elevations.

Oh yeah, i don't think eastern bluebirds (the kind we have) go that far west, but mountain bluebirds are spectacular!

The photos of the new bridge and from the new bridge remind me of how much I like and relate to bridges! Books such as "The Bridge of San Luis Rey" and "The Bridges of Madison County." The play "From the Bridge." And covered bridges from my family's native PA. Bridges are such lovely metaphors for relationships, possibility, adventure, and the iconic "Bridge over Troubled Water." "I will lay me down..."

Thank you Karen for this post containing so many lovely images of The Real World. The cirrus clouds in your second sunrise image are exemplary! I used to build and maintain bluebird houses in a large open field abutting the property where I once lived. I still see bluebirds in the trees bordering a stormwater pond behind our home. Seeing the male’s brilliant feathers is a call for joy! Your account of visiting the new bridge struck me as a metaphor for living. Thank you again, Karen.

I often think one can read a person’s heart by where they point their lens. An affirmation that kindred spirits abound.

The November 15 misty photo is stunning, and the bluebirds are beautiful. So many of your photos would translate into drawings and paintings and I've tucked many aside for the time when I HAVE time, just to make art, after asking your permission to use your photos as inspiration. Always so lovely, your posts.

Mary, I love the idea of using Karen's photos to practice sketching!!! Don't know why I haven't thought of this myself?! Time to break out the charcoal and pencils.
