If I didn't know better I would be thinking the photo of your favorite tree was taken in early Spring! The ruby-crowned kinglet's straight on shot with wing feathers raised in stop-motion makes think of a cheery wave or high five. I love the last photo of the red-bellied woodpecker, such a great perspective and framing.
Thanks, Karen, for calling our attention to some of your Winter visitors. The horned greebs that barely ruffle the water as they dive! You are so observant! I know when I open “DROPS OF BEAUTY” I’ll be thrilled!
So many wonderful photos! I wonder if the person who planted that beautiful tree ever comes to see it, now? I hope so. That sweet little handful of ruby-crowned kinglet showing off her flutter of a fan dance is such a treat. And love all of the close-up details of the red-bellied woodpecker. How nature gives her the amazing detail of those black and white feathers does give me pause. As always, thank you for sharing your world!
You know, that tree has surely been there since before the park. The land was part of a big farm. I'm guessing the tree might have been planted by the birds! Thank you Sandy!
