Generosity is such a great theme. The best example I know is what you share with us here ... such an abundance of beauty and wonder. (Those ice photos!!). Thank you, Karen.

Thank you! It's funny that I don't think of myself as generous, but with this practice I am seeing myself in a different light. I had no idea that generosity was a core Buddhist practice!

Beautiful images. It looks and feels so much like my own little corner of the world, yet we are so far apart. Thanks for sharing your images and words - they always serve me well, and I appreciate that immensely!

You speak perfect Hooded Merganser! Native tongue? (I’m guessing “Yes” as you speak much of Nature eloquently.

May you continue to receive the generosity and support you deserve, Karen. I enjoy many Substackers, but in truth you are as generous as they get. Your reveling in and revealing of the real world lifts my spirit with every post. Today I am celebrating the ducks and ice of early February with you! Thank you!

Beautiful images Karen. I saw thw Beluga too and your caption confimed my first thought That confetti ice almost looks like freshly-grated parmesan cheese - excellent photo. I love the image of the Great Blue Heron standing perectly betwwen the two pairs of Hooded Mergansers. Thanks for sharing and may your week also be filled with generosity and blessings.

When others ask me to pray for them, or send them healing energy, I never miss a beat! I'm on it! But being so sick with RSV these past three weeks, I've learned to swallow my independent pride to reach out and ask for prayers and healing energy from others. The almost instantaneous response and real-time results were humbling and amazing! It was as if someone flipped a switch! Everything I profess to believe in came true. So, your comment about being generous to ourselves as well as others really resonated. Generosity in all its forms -- material, emotional, spiritual -- is not just about outflow, but also income, to nourish and sustain us when we are down and in need.

Praying for you too Lauren. I only had the RSV vaccination, and it wiped me out for three days. What a horrible time you must have had!!
