Gorgeous photos, Karen...but how did that fully stretched flying dove, photobomb those ripples so perfectly in that 'Water Magic' photo? Even turning its head to the camera! Must be magic. xo
I love fog. There is always a story waiting to be told within.Sometimes, the beauty of a dense fog is in the invisible. The unknown, what we cannot see.Even making up stories, what will I see when the fog lifts.
“ Some days the fog envelopes me and I must listen more than I look.”
I love your magic photography. And the Grackle holding his prize acorn.
Sunday morning, time for Karen magic! As the sun is rising over my shoulder I have your wonderful pictures and words to start my day! I so agree about the possible benefit of humans watching large flocks of birds flying together. In general I am a loner, but I would give way to joining a dance of humans that had learned to move together and make room for one-another. Perhaps in your own way Karen you are showing this to us humans.
BTW - Does everyone who has cable know that Xfinity has added a 'Relax with the Birds' on their Music Choice playlist? You just have to say ''Music Choice - Birds' and navigate from there. It is free for a week. Lovely backyard filming of birds with sound. My cat Cary thinks its definitely worth watching! And I like the background bird sounds as I work. Might be a nice way to settle down in the evening, too.
"In general I am a loner, but I would give way to joining a dance of humans that had learned to move together and make room for one-another. " - THIS! This is beautiful. I think this is largely the appeal of concerts and sports where stadiums are full. I too prefer my space, but I can imagine being in a large group for music or flowing movement.
Good info on Xfinity! Somewhere I found background bird sounds, now I have to remember where. Might have been in the Calm Radio app?
What a wealth of images and words, Karen! I especially liked the seemingly motionless bluejay, acorn in mouth. As you shared about having fear and trepidation some nights, I visualized flocks of migratory birds. Traveling as a group, yet the journey requires each one to prepare in advance and trust its own navigation flying across expanses of open ocean.
I’d like to suggest that, as a way of grounding, to take solace in knowing your flock is with you, too. Followers, readers, fellow photographers and lovers of Nature. I’m proud to be part of your flock.
Karen, you have a magic that I hope communicates itself to all of us- an ability to view the natural world as a community of friends and personalities. This is so very different from the old science that viewed animals and plants as mere mechanisms, wind-up bundles of instincts, operating blindly to internal programming's dance with external stimuli. We know now that was a faulty and shrunken view of a far richer, brighter and wondrous reality. You embody the newer view, better than anyone I know.
Gorgeous photos ❤️😍👍….we need rain too🙏☔️☔️☔️💦💦💦

Again your words with the images create meditations and prayers. Beautiful!!! You are so gifted!
Such beautiful images, and encouraging words. Thank you Karen!
Stunning photos. So inspiring. I feel like I'm taking a deep, healing breath as I dive into your photos and your words. Thank you
What a lovely meditation on the fog and all it obscures and highlights.
Thank you Jan

Thank you Lor - I need to apply that when things are "foggy" in other areas, to remember that there is a story that will emerge.
Simply thank you. 🙏
Thank you Patris
You capture ethereal beauty non-stop. Amazing as always.
Thank you Mary

Have to wonder if children were to watch birds soaring together regularly, if they might intuitively gain an unspoken insight of how to work together.
Oooh, love that.
Lovely images, Karen. I especially like the image of the Blue Jay - looks like they're suspended in mid-air!
Thank you Neil

I hope the rain finds your area soon!
I love that image of the flock of birds, and knowing I am traveling with my flock so much. Thank you Gary!!

You so capture the need for trust. For the morning. For rain. In life itself. Faith.
Thank you Alison
