This was utterly delightful and lifted my spirits immensely on a blisteringly hot and muggy day in South Florida. Interesting that you've had two experiences of "focusing" -- in every sense of the word -- on just one bird at a time. And how they have cooperated by posing for you. It as been great storybook fun for me!
I loved this. I have been watching a family of Great Blue Herons. Rhe parents built a nest high in a ponderosa pine tree over lucking a duck pond at Manito Park.
The last baby flew away yesterday. The park felt like a ghost town today: no birds, no group of birding friends sitting together at a viewing spot watch f and taking pictures of them.
Lovely Karen! It's great to occasionally focus on one species...I do! And I love telling it from the perspective of your subject...reminds me of my friends' Chip and Susan's Substact "Travels with Slimmy"--check it out. Slimmy, their grumpy kitty, is hilariuos!
A beautiful piece for me to escape in. <3
That heron definitely had an attitude!
