Today here in New England we had a few flakes of snow and sun and now clouds but the squirrels are collecting wet leaves and the bunnies are out in full force.. The tulips are up but not out yet.
March here in north Texas is full of beautiful Redbuds in bloom and the Bradford pear trees white blooms already turning to green leaves.. Daffodils and Hyacinths are popping up with beautiful color everywhere… the recent rains have the grass turning green and leaving the dormant brown behind…we have a few sunny 80 degree days mixed in with rainy 50 degree days… my cat loves the open window days❤️😍🌱🌿🪻🌷💐
Okay! I want the Karen Davis calendar with the amazing pictures of sand for March! And of course, with your beautiful writing as well! Drinking it all in Karen. Such a lovely treat.
Beautiful photos Karen. I like how you describe March as "moody and muddy" as well - so fitting here in Ottawa right now. I like that Yellow-rumped Warbler photo and am looking forward to some appearing soon later this month/early April. They're typically the first warbler species I see in Ottawa. They're fun to watch zipping and darting around the trails and hedges.
March birthday (early March, which might be the worst?). On the day I was born, there was a blizzard. This year, I sat outside in the sunshine on my birthday. March is uniquely and always herself, which is what I'm striving to be.
March is a mystery. You never know what she will give you. I was born in the middle of March during a snow storm. I have experienced warm, cold, rainy, and sunny birthdays. All sorts of different weather. March signals the coming warmth, and I love it.
Karen, I have never appreciated March as much as today. What a gift you have sent pairing your exquisite words and brilliant thoughts with your art. You must publish a book on “MARCH”.
What a marvelous post! How beautiful the reflections and photographs! Here in Portland, the March lion is roaring. The winds buffeted the zendo this morning but the candles did not waver. 🙂 Thanks for your splendid essay!

Oh I love that. The tulips are showing the way!
Beautiful photos and this has to be one of my new favorite writings from you. Thanks for reminding me of change and letting go!
Thank you!

Also, those patterns in the sand are amazing.
Oh, I have sooooo many friends and loved ones with early March birthdays so I know it's definitely a good time to be born. thank you Robyn!
A mindful insight on where we are ❤️
Thank you Paolo!
Enchanting portrait of a month!
Thank you Jeffrey!

Thank you Dawn! My mother probably would have said much the same as a first day of spring birthday.
I love the idea of the birds putting on their party clothes 🎈🎉
Thanks Cali! I've never been able to refer to it any other way, lol.
That line tickled me too. Perhaps it's time to take out my dusty old party clothes..the aloha and disco shirts, the flip flops and Panama hats!
Oooohhh, yes!

Thank you Clark! Mmmm. I'd love to write a chapter for every month.
I will buy 10 autographed copies…❗️

Thank you Michael. Hope you get plenty of the "lamb" side soon!
"...the candles did not waver." 🙏🏽
You saw the heart of it. 🙏
I love the sand waves and I love that you honored them with your noticing. And yes, perfectly said...March is a place of the in between!
Thank you Tricia!
