You are like Thoreau, you see everything. The main difference is you have photographs to prove it!

I saw my first batch of second hatch quail fuzz balls today and yesterday, I watched a big, plump one standing on the roof of my wife’s little greenhouse. Just standing there, thinking he was the king of the world, which for him is our yard. And turkeys are coming out of hiding, clogging our roads and causing travel delays, which reminds me, a big mule got out of his pasture and was standing across the center line of the road so that he stopped traffic. People started honking at him, which made him more stubborn, then they hollered at him while he glared back. I’m not sure who the biggest jackass was in that little standoff.

Awww, thank you! Thoreau had much fancier words than I do for sure, maybe because he didn't have photos, I don't know? Omg, little quail fuzz balls sound so adorable! Turkeys are no joke to a car - I have almost hit them a couple times, one just barely got enough altitude to go over my car. And the mule story is pretty funny!

Such movement in that shimmering mist above the lake! Love it! I can feel it. I can hear it. I can taste it!

Hope your city quiets down for your rest tonight. I live on a state highway. When my nieces were young and came to visit, they called it 'the fast river'. Somehow that has stuck, and I still think of it that way. In some unexplainable way it makes the noise more bearable. Wishing you a beautiful week ahead.

Thank you Sandy! It's been more of stuff around my house - having to have some work done, contractors in and out, plus work stuff. It's all noise really.

Okay, I was going to say that the cedar waxwing was my favorite among a bunch of favorite photos, but ... then ... that last photo! Are you kidding? WOW. I picture you wandering all over the place taking these photos, but they're all within 10 feet of that bench. Astounding! P.S. I'm glad your nervous system has birds and nature to help it find balance.

I love the picture of the bench and that all the pics are from that tiny area. There’s so much to see if you’re paying attention, even in a small space.
