Thank you Lura! Yes, I LOVE sunlight and water reflections, even better if I can find something floating in it. Good luck with your page!

Your writing is so inspiring. Hardly we can name those feelings in the dark and bravely face it and accept it without fear. You nail it. Love it. I learned to not creating more ripples when emotions become unstable. At the moment when I sense my feeling unstable, I lie down and deep breath for some minutes to declutter my mind. I find it helps.

Lovely post Karen. Just keep loving yourself. As for the autocorrect programs, they may help you, but I haven’t detected any evidence that your writing needs help. Perfection is the enemy of Good.

"I finally understand that the practices are to allow myself to be present with the discomfort and learn that I am ok even with discomfort present." - Oof, I needed this phrase today. Thank you. And an excellent post, too.

Thank you Misti. I'm pretty sure I've "understood" this before...probably something I have to get over and over!

Hearing your process of meeting the darkness with curiosity and compassion feels so loving, healing, like there's no where else to be. 💗

Fairytales can come true .The sky provided a feathered quill, the deep golden orange tinted water of sunrise; your ink, and if you ask nicely, the trees may donate their leaves ; your paper, and always, always, words will come from your heart. And remember the old

Serenity Prayer; written by Reinhold Niebuhr

“Grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, courage to change the things I can, and wisdom to know the difference.”

Sometimes the truths are found in the silence , you just have to pay attention and listen. Wishing you the very best this holiday season, and may all your dreams come true. 🪄✨

Thank you for sharing your honesty, and your awareness of the resistance you feel. You are not the only one. Learning to be comfortable with discomfort is quite the learning curve. Love that your curiousity is leading you forward into the discoveries ahead.

Thank you Julie - it is a huge learning curve. I keep jumping off and trying to avoid it but the only way to grow is to stay on it.

To be afraid of that which we seek. Our own self inflicted blindness of who we are. We all are stumbling around in the dark grabbing at one distraction after another until a path opens with light and comfort for our weary little brains and instinct takes us home.

Rage against the machine, Karen. Your writing is soft, sensitive and matches tone beautifully with your photos. Don’t fix what ain’t broke.

I’m working on pulling the plug on all my autocorrectors because I’m tired of fighting them for control of my writing. Bill Gates! Stephen Jobs! You shall not pass.

Thank you for sharing your heart with us Karen. When yin is at its fullest, we find the seed of yang; the yang of curiosity pierces the yin of resistance. A jewel in the darkness indeed.

Speaking Truth clearly can make us uncomfortable, and disturb some who aren’t ready to learn the Truth. I very much like how you explored your topic with us today. Clear thinking and writing shown prominently, Karen. Brava!

When you showed your image of a single feather, on ice and in darkness, I saw a strong parallel to your initial image of the quill in the clouds and sky. Perhaps showing that we can see and learn in darkness and in light? Call me “grateful” for having read your post.

Thank you Gary! I love the parallel of the two feathers!

These lines are very helpful to me--"I thought I was learning self-compassion and a wide variety of somatic practices so I could regulate myself and make discomfort go away. I finally understand that the practices are to allow myself to be present with the discomfort and learn that I am ok even with discomfort present."

Thank you Janisse. I know I've heard that but I think inside myself I was still thinking, but the discomfort will go away, right? Sigh.
