Fall is my favorite time of the year as it reminds me that nothing lasts forever. Yet, after this dying comes the sleep of winter followed by the rebirth of Spring, followed by the maturing of Summer, followed by fall-my favorite time of the year because nothing lasts forever. I, continually, have hope that at least some of the terrible things happening in the world will die away and become the fertilizer for a more beauty filled world. Karen, your pictures and musings are part of what continues to give me that hope.

I love this Uncle Bill. My friend Oriah always says that our greatest hope is that everything changes. (And of course sometimes it's my greatest fear when I want to hang on to something good.) Thank you!

Yes . And what is fascinating to me is that as we allow even the really good to die it is, frequently, re-birthed into something even more wonder filled; but not always. That is the risk. We have to trust that, no matter what, good will come out of everything. Right now I am having trouble with the polarizing that I see happening in our country. Trusting that good will come out of it is hard for me to imagine.

You are an example of a person modeling the beauty surrounding us. And this helps me to continue believing in the process. Thanks for all you do.

Trust...I work on that every day.

We've had drought too. Everything is so parched and the trees are flagging. Thankfully we had a few hours of rain on Thursday which has helped but we need more.

Even though you can't sit on the ground and feel the earth, what about taking your shoes off for a few minutes and connecting to the ground with bare feet. It can be very grounding.

P.S. I love Fall too. There is something about the crispness of a September morning after the slowness of summer.

Wishing you some rain (and not too much all at once).

Also a big fan of fall. As a gardener, it signals the beginning of the end, the seasons when there’s nothing to be done outside, no weeding or planting calling to me. Time to snuggle in and rest up.

It’s funny how I think of summer as my snuggle in and rest up season! Or maybe one of many, lol.

True, snuggling in and resting up has no season!

Yes, always have felt late summer and early fall as a time of slowing down… maybe because the days get shorter🤷🏻‍♀️ It’s nice to have cooler weather too…. And we finally got some rain to help break our drought conditions (thankfully not the flooding amounts just south of us). Definitely savoring this time!!❤️❤️❤️

I’m so glad you weren’t in that flooding! And so glad it’s cooler, you guys had a hot summer.

I very much share your thoughts and attitude towards Fall -- my favorite season anywhere I go. Perhaps it's because I was born in early November, and Fall is part of my soul DNA. Some might say that chronologically I am in the winter of my life, but my heart still says it's Fall, with that curiosity, joy, and reverie of which you spoke. I'm savoring it, too.

Oh it’s good to know I can stay and fall forever!
