Thank you so much for taking us along on your early morning adventures. That swallow flipping over in a tenth of a second is -- like this post -- glorious!
Hi Karen, I read a book about two sisters in the South USA, whose mother had named them both after Birds! One was named Avocet & she was the one the book focused on! Cannot remember the title. Do you have any idea? Kindly Kate
"acrobatic and fast - like little fighter planes but way more maneuverable than anything humans have yet created" absolutely agree with you, and you've a lovely way with words Karen!
Beautiful post, both words and photos! We have a few birdhouses in the back. For a few years now, we have had birds make their nests in the houses. One year we had swallows. I had such fun watching them. One baby in particular would poke his little face out of the hole for feeding. That little face was so cute. I missed them when they left. Hoping one year soon we will have more swallows! 💜

Dancing with the swallows--I love this so much! What a great practice, to get in rhythm with them. And be changed by it. Thanks for showing us.
“ I let myself settle, feeling how I am held by the Earth” 💞💞
Yes! I loved that line, too.
I'm so glad that I get to experience this spring's migration through your eyes, Karen.
Thank you Janisse.
Karen, Thank you for bringing the incredible Life & Flight phases of the Avocet! Kindly Kate
