Karen, I thought Sue wrote she was feeling depressed. However, when I looked back on her Yogini post, I couldn't find it. What I said comes from believing all negative experiences can be converted to positive outcomes. It takes effort and a will to not give in to what holds us back, fear, depression, and lack of knowing the power existing within oneself.
Sue, I wish you were on the shore creating. Your mind is a vast expanse of open territory, your down week created this post, I think there is a lot more to mine from it. Ben
I love this post. Wonderful photos. I understand the missing migration grief. I just missed a big two weeks of migration working. I hope this week is better for you, Karen.
By sitting, observing, photographing, you did so much more than merely passively "waiting." You showed up, were present, engaged with your avian friends in that magical way you have, and once again, gave us all such a gift of your moments. Out of your own pain and discomfort came beauty and healing again. You're amazing, KD! ;-)
Thank you Lauren. Yeah, I think I took some liberties with combining my feeling of "waiting" the rest of the week with the experience Monday morning. I really appreciate this!
One of the "gifts" of the pandemic, is that I realized some part of me was/had been "waiting." Don't really know what for (better health? less pain? more energy? ) but I realized that the waiting was, of course, always future oriented and I was pulling away from/numbing out to the present moment. Of course, when we are experiencing pain or discomfort, we do hope it will get better. I did not want to dash my hopes for better health- but I could feel how hope is a tricky thing. I resolved to stop waiting. Which, of course, did not work :-) but, it did help me notice a little more frequently when I was not present, when I was waiting for something (I do not know what.) I love that, despite you not being able to go out this week, you were in fact present to the photos you had taken, and offered us an anchor in the present through contemplating the beauty you have shared in images and words . Thank you.
Today I thought - maybe sometimes I'm not waiting I'm just - leaving space. Then I watch "Ted Lasso" and get this quote: "Sometimes you gotta leave space for God to walk in the room." (I googled, apparently the original was Quincy Jones, said to Michael Jackson)
Mmmm, yes, thank you for this reflection Oriah. I love "I resolved to stop waiting. Which, of course, did not work." Lol, get that. Thank you for helping me see what I did - sometimes in the struggle I'm like "did I accomplish anything here?" Love you!

Ah, now I see, thanks for clarifying.

Well done for batting your curveball x
Thank you Cali. You definitely know how challenging a weird health curveball can be. I'm hoping this corrects course quickly.
