I tease my wife about substituting their nectar with Mountain Dew, which of course she wouldn’t allow and I wouldn’t do. But still, it’s fun to think of them going Mach 1 with a tiny sonic boom (pffft) and tiny feathers drifting down in their wake!
Beautiful! I love how you describe your process as both energizing and relaxing ... it sounds so meditative. Also, thank you as always for all that I learn about birds from your posts.
Hoping to be less purple martin (loud, brash and territorial) and more barn swallow (determined, efficient, and resilient) in my actions. But they are are all uniquely wonderful to behold!
I enjoyed the "rat-a-tat-tat" sound of the purple martin when he was inside one of the boxes, I assume next to his mate. Fun to watch!
❤️❤️❤️😍😍😍
That white butterfly! Your pictures really are beautiful. You can feel the love, the joy
No swallows or martins here yesterday, but the fierce hummingbirds are at war with one another over an infinite supply of nectar.
Thanks again for sharing the beauty you see in your world.
Hummers are intense!

LOL - right! (and of course no - but so funny to imagine!)

Thank you!
Your photos are world-class, Karen. The light through the swallow wings is sublime.
Thank you!

Everything in balance, right? We need both sometimes.
