I loved seeing the White Pelicans moving, diving. I wondered what the behavior is about. Mating perhaps? Thank you for your beautiful videos of Loons and Pelicans.

I believe we figured out it was a fishing technique of some sort, but my memory is a little fuzzy!

Oh, that opening panoramic view—yowze! It's amazing, just the composition of it, not to mention the light, the stillness... just yowze. Your pictures take me right there, to the waking up of the world. I enjoy following as you notice each companion of the spring. Thanks!

Woke up to a couple inches of fresh snow this morning after spending the evening watching it blast in sideways on the wind, again, if that tells you anything....

Thank you - I feel like there's a poem called "Loon remind me..." I wrote part of it but it wasn't going to finish itself yesterday.

"wobble-wobble flight" - so true! I am very much here for a beaver feature and ALWAYS HERE FOR THE LOONS. This is such a magical post, thank you Karen. Also, those pelicans bobbing in tandem! Like they are just ho-hum doing a breaststroke or something. Pretty wild. <3 Hope you enjoy your Sunday. Thanks for starting off mine with so much beauty and joy.

Also: this spring has been so turbulent in emotional terms, almost unbearably so. I have heard from so many that it has been tough - the 'wobble wobble flight' of all of us this season. Thank you for helping to normalize this. I am absolutely with you in the struggle for equanimity recently. Last week I realized: 'O wow, I am having such a hard time and it's totally normal.' It shifted my heart a tiny bit into more acceptance which made a fraction of space for more peace. <3

Thank you for sharing this. I never want others to struggle and suffer - but sometimes it's good to know it's not just me!
