The way you look at things is heartwarming, inspiring, and makes me forget the pain I feel. I'm thankful for you, and hope you always see with your heart the way you do now!!!

I don't know if you're interested in this, but I thought of you immediately when I saw that winking owl! :D

We feel the very front edge of the change of seasons. August here has been blessed by four or five days of rain, so we made it through the month without any wildfires in our neck of the woods.

I love this - the "front edge of the change of seasons". That's what it is here too! So glad you had rain and no wildfires.

Your "dilemma" is exactly why I've been an avid student of Jung's theory of personality type which evolved into a formal system known as Myers-Briggs by a very intuitive and insightful mother/daughter team, which says we all have a preferred way of using our brains in both the inner and outer world. I, too, struggle with perfectionist detail and have often (mis)judged myself as being hyper-critical and judgmental. (But the fact that we can catch ourselves in the act and question our thoughts is inherently healthy. Sometimes we ARE being those things, but not always.) I've come to realize that I'm hard-wired to see and feel things deeply at all levels -- physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual. The result can be OVERWHELM! And that's when we're up nights wishing we could count dragonflies instead of sheep! Everything matters so intensely, and I also can get like a dog with a bone and not let it go. But the freedom and profound acceptance of nature tells me, I'm OK; you're OK; it's all more than OK. As Dan just said, it is a superpower that at times we misconstrue as a curse or weirdness. On the contrary, it's a gift and a blessing. We just have to learn how to "rein the horses" so they don't run away with us! ;-)

One of my favs, this one! Thank you for paying attention to and sharing the details, the beauty and grandeur most of us simply pass by. It is a Superpower you have and I count myself blessed to be on the receiving end of that gift.
