Karen, baby steps~ I believe your sharing will help many people~ in P.T for my back 25 years ago I learned a lot~ Work had a stand up desk for me~ and a physical therapist watched me get in and out of my car~ how I got in and out of bed ~ it was amazing how I used my back the wrong way instead of using my legs~ I am praying for you every day~ for pain and healing~ your pictures are always amazing ~ much love karen
Ah - yes! I hope to learn a lot and change these patterns. But indeed, baby steps and patience. I"m glad to learn yesterday that warm rice packs help too, especially because I can put those on when i go to bed!
Thanks, Karen, for once again sharing your "true to life" experience. I injured my lower back about 15 years ago. It took a chiropractor several weeks to slowly "hammer" it back into place and then weeks of physical therapy and now continuing exercises. But, as you have suggested, I have discovered that posture is really key. Take care of yourself. Isn't it fascinating what we can learn from if we have a mind open to it. Thanks for sharing your own insights arising out of your pain.
Thank you. For several things but mostly for sharing your pain. It’s what makes you real for me. In my various creative paths I found that a hiatus is beneficial, for my ability, for my head, for my creative ability to grow. I hope that you appreciate this time of less productivity as one of great value. And for god’s sake, invest in your self and your workspace. Sincerely, Gray
Thank you. I have invested in my workspace actually! All of my little desks were made for me by a local artisan out of reclaimed local wood and they are actually really lovely. I have a tiny space and it allows it all to fit. I just have to get with them on the new requirement!
It seems to be a week for learning about pain and nerves. I was bitten by a copperhead snake last week, and since I was wearing sandals the fangs were inserted to their full extent. I had no idea that the current treatment for venomous snake bites is to let it "do its thing" as long as you don't have underlying medical conditions that may be affected. So I've spent the week going through different phases of nerves being affected in my leg, pain (lessened with medicine), and then slowly learning to walk with crutches. It's always a pleasure to see your photos and insights. I enjoy living with the natural world so close (yes, even the snakes) and you have helped me learn to pay closer attention to what's going on around me. I almost always learn something new from your photos and insight. I'm glad to hear that you're feeling better.
Wow and omg! Copperhead! I had no idea this was the way they do it now, no antivenom? That sounds really brutal. I hope you are also able to recover soon. All my compassion, nerve pain down the back of my leg is what I have and it sucks (also lessened by medication).
Friday was my last day of physical therapy for the acute tendonitis and radial tunnel (nerve) syndrome. Now I must maintain the gains I have experienced by continued practices and exercises at home, knowing that if I slack off and get sloppy I will be back to Square One. I can totally relate to "curling in," as I literally was curling my hands into a ball both waking and sleeping, thus putting undue stress [sic] on both muscles and nerves and resulting in 24/7 pain for nearly six months. Yes, the lessons of chronic pain are daunting, and when relief comes, the gratitude and joy are immense -- a new lease on life! May we both have taken these lessons to heart in the form of being advocates for our own healing and self-care. XO
I'm so sorry to hear about your challenges with pain this week. Thank you for the beautiful insights and photos you captured in the midst of it. Sending lots of good thoughts and healing energy your way! 💖

Thank you Uncle Bill. The experiences may not be optional but the learning is.

Wishing you good blessings and open gates as you uncurl and enter.
Thank you
Sending you lots of love. And I'm sure that one day soon, those lemons will turn into the most tasty and refreshing lemonade. Take care xxx
Thank you! I learning from you too.

Yay Lauren, for all the progress. Whew, it's such a hard path. Wishing you so much love as you work with maintaining it.
Backatcha! If misery loves company, health, healing, and wellness loves it even more! May we stay the course! ;-)
OH I love that. We'll start saying that - health and wellness loves company! Lifting each other.
