Sometimes I look at these photos and I'm so grateful that I live in the subtropics. We have our uncomfortable heat, but omg, I find ice and snow difficult.
As long as the power is on, I'd prefer cold to hot! I can - and do - wear a lot of clothes, lol, but I can stay warm. I was out for two hours today at near zero and was never cold! Heat I can't handle. Isn't it the way though, we adapt to what we've got?
Incredible photos, Karen. I already loved winter, but now even more so. We're all the beneficiaries of your eye for beautiful details. Thank you thank you!
If the first thing we must do to mitigate Climate Change is to fall in love with Mother Nature, you help open our hearts to this possibility with every post Karen. If L.A. "He'll" doesn't wake us up to what is coming in the near future, I do not know what will. Time to join an organization to combat Climate Change and "do something " for our children & our grandchildren and all future generations.
The bike rack!!!! Wholly-moly! How fabulously beautiful is that patterning!?! And the lace like ice edging!!! And then the patterns in the sparkling iced branches!!! I LOVE all of this so much! I am calling 'the book' of these pics 'A Deeper Look at Winter'. As you say, I could look at them for hours. Truly beautiful. :-)
Thank you, Karen. What a beautiful reminder. I am housebound following a total knee replacement, your photos and words bring me to what I am missing. Thank you for your gift.
I love the photos of edge ice that looks like lace and the one of frost patterns on a bike rack. Very cool.

I’m so happy my feed is filled with all these winter wonderland pictures everywhere. Happy to have come across yours as well.
Thank you Aria!

I'm remembering what i wrote last week - that connection requires vulnerability. I think compassion does too.

All so beautiful!! And then the photo of the cardinal, looking like a leftover punk rocker, middle-aged and beer-bellied... made me laugh!
More beautiful! Thank you!
Lol, good description of the cardinal! Thank you Alison.
Thank you for your thoughts and your beautiful images. Exactly what I needed this morning
Thank you Dawn
Thank you for the walk in the crystal palace, ice covered place that you live
Thank you
Thank you Karen for braving the cold in near-zero° conditions to capture pictures of new ice and snow. Thanks for sharing unselfishly.
Thank you Gary

Thank you Laurie - may you heal quickly!
If I could send this snow to the good people of Southern California, I would, to take the sting out of the fire damage.
Would do it in a heartbeat if it was in my power!
