So beautiful. I especially like the hiding kingfisher - the golden hazy light perfectly captures the hidden feeling :)

I had to smile at your flicker pictures and comments as I was reminded of a morning last year when I watched about 5-6 young flickers on a telephone pole and wires. They were mostly sitting still ... then one would do a strange head bobbing and weaving to be followed by the others!!! Then they would all sit still for a while and do the little head bobbing thing again. It was like they had headphones on and were moving to a favorite piece of music. Flickers have always heralded the arrival of fall for me with their unique clear-cut call. Loved the whole post today. Wood ducks are such a treat to the eye!

Yes - and they were squeaking too! I've heard their calls and barks many times but I have never heard squeaking like this!

You are in Missouri? Me too! I shared some images in my post today of Highway 100 in Illinois area, although I am in Southeast Missouri and we still have leaves. You must be in northern Missouri. Well, I must say this makes me like following you all the better.

Hi Cheryl, yes, I'm in the Kansas City area. I love knowing you're in southeast Missouri!

I tried searching for Missouri to see if there were any others like us, just last night, to no avail. Then I saw your post and realized I was already following one. And you love nature photography! I was like, hey cool!

I will be heading your way sometime! I'm trying to get something in every county of Missouri and that Northeast corner has no markers! I put my travel videos on YT, but I'll be sharing them in posts here too. I just transferred my list here and am really like the place. https://www.mycorneronline.com/photography/photointro.html
