Can't help but think about all of the trips the eagles made with long sticks in their beaks to build that nest. We have lots of eagles where I live. If you are outside for anytime at all, you are likely to see one or more. Yet, I never see them with sticks in their beaks. Are they nighttime architects?! 🤣 Wishing you good cheer today, Karen. And thanking you for all of the cheer you send our way.

Beautiful birds… love your pictures 👍❤️😍. I watched the eclipse from my apartment parking garage rooftop. There were about 20-25 people watching with me. It was fascinating!!! My area was in the band for a total 100% eclipse. We had cloud cover but it cleared enough when the eclipse first started so we could see with just occasional clouds floating by and blocking view… my pictures didn’t turn out but it was sure fun to witness…I got goosebumps and chills when it went dark…very eerie feeling….total darkness only lasted a couple of minutes…all the street lights automatically came on….it was just amazing…I bet it was really cool out in the country away from the lights….I thought about how it must have been back in ancient times😍❤️☀️🌚

Love the blue heron from the neck up. We could be friends. Came home from my eclipse experience and crashed into a deep sleep. What was that about? 96% with almost no clouds, the light was as if on a dimmer. Went to my local library for eclipse glasses and walked out with two free books.

Re; the solar eclipse, it was cloudy here in Toronto, where it was a 99% eclipse. I did go out with my eclipse glasses. It got very dark at 3:20 pm and then light a few minutes later. It was an interesting experience.

Love the photos; love the birds. Love how the eagles can sort things out between them without resorting to violence.

That's my nature fix for today. Thank you, Karen.

I love the great blue heron photos. Cropping the rest of their bodies and showing just their necks makes them look like a totally different creature. Very Muppet-like and full of personality.
