The blue winged teal in flight is perfect and the little warbler getting ready to swallow the caterpillar is, well, interesting.
Have you used a free app called BirdNET that lets you record bird songs and can help identify the bird that is singing? I just downloaded it onto my phone and will try it this week. It says it will work with the built-in microphone, but I am going to see if a Bluetooth directional microphone might be available. It would be worth it just to record meadowlarks!
Your “quips” remind me how similar we are and yet different from these miraculous flying birds. I recently read that the “bird brain” can dream and g-d knows what else we will discover. Karen thanks for helping lessen our self imposed separation from Nature. I am in awe of creation. You help keep me there‼️
Thank you Sharon! Yeah, they are dropping it as fast as they can because it is really high. Whew, that was a lot of rain! And rain in the forecast quite often in the upcoming days.
Fantastic photographs again in particular of the tree swallows (having tried unsuccessfully to photograph swallows last weekend and ending up with just a few blurred images!)
Thank you Kevin. Swallows are hard! They really are so fast. Harder to get in the air than above the water, mostly because if my focus goes to the water it comes back quickly but in the air it goes to infinity and loses track entirely. I take a LOT of photos to get a few in focus.
Wonderful photographs to enjoy my breakfast with. Thank you!
The sunsets. Hold the camera up, waiting patiently. Until you say to yourself, there it is, the perfect shot. Pleased , you look again and now it’s the perfect shot. Good thing sunsets happen in slow motion ‘frames’.
Oh, and I thought the Yellow-rumped warbler was waving hello.
Nice captures...I especially liked the flying teal shot - beautiful! And that warbler...what a great personality!

I haven’t used that one but I do use Merlin Bird ID sound ID and it has been helpful!
Lots of directional microphone options for cameras and phones on Amazon: directional microphone for birding

Thank you Lor
Birds do sing with their whole bodies, which is one of those things that's always delighted me without putting words to it.
Yes!
