Yes….I was just commenting to Leslie this morning on our walk that I didn’t hear any birds chirping … it was quiet😳🤷♀️☹️. We’ve been enjoying a cooler week but like you the heat returns this weekend…and the days are definitely getting shorter….maybe that’s why I’ve been in a little bit of a funky mood…. I miss the sunlight when I wake up in the morning 😳🙄🤷♀️☀️☀️
Yes, the days are noticeably shorter on both ends! I love going to bed in the dark and waking up in the dark, but I wasn't always that way. Love you! Thank you Aunt Sharon!
Your images delight me, Karen! Your comment about missing the voices of the Purple Martins reminded me of John Denver’s lyric:
“The absence of her laughter
Is a cold and empty sound”
Fall migration is getting underway here in north Florida. Birds of prey, hawks in particular, call out that fact. Cycles of life; cycles of the year. Thanks so much for all you do in sharing your images and comments, Karen.
Your Thich Nhat Hans quote about abandoning our views for things to reveal themselves, has me thinking how true that is. I instinctually quiet myself when I think a wild animal is near by in hopes that they might become more visible .... now I will practice the same quieting of self when I am waiting for an answer to reveal itself.
You do have the grandest morning skies out your way! Love them all. And I am tuning-in to your light on water pics! I I would love to have some fabric of todays pic!
Ooooh - I needed to hear this interpretation!!! ("now I will practice the same quieting of self when I am waiting for an answer to reveal itself") I do too and I struggle to be patient and listen for answers. I was just thinking (like literally 5 minutes ago) that maybe the biggest lesson of my life is that I will never "figure it out" but rather need to trust and listen for answers - or often just the next step.
We do have grand skies - nothing to get in the way for hundreds of miles, lol. I've had many people say "that would make a good fabric" - is that even a thing that can be done? It seems like it should be.
Yes, the next step would be great, wouldn't it !! I don't know how images are transferred to fabric, but I have seen fabric with such images that are repeated in various ways. Really like the movement in todays image along with the play of light. Thank you again for your sharing what you see!!
We'd welcome some of that coolness here in Tokyo, where we still have summer temperatures. Lovely photos, as ever.
I wish you coolness like I’m wishing us rain! Thank you Jeffrey!
Mornings are cool, good for walking as exercise. Are turkey vultures the mascot for today, debate day? (couldn't resist). Thank you as always.
Lol, I love that. I read an article somewhere that turkey vulture should have been our national bird...or maybe it was turkeys?

Beauty in nature is a gift you so generously give to us!
Thank you Linda!

Oh, that's a great lyric for it! Thank you Gary, and enjoy those raptors!
It's cooler in the UK this week. I'm wearing jeans today for the first time in ages. But next week the temperatures are going up a bit
Same cycle. I really love it being cooler but everyone has different preferences. Thanks Cali!

Everything is in motion some Greek philosopher said. Birds, bugs, water, skies, moods, sun and moon. Especially baby birds!
It's true, nothing stands still. even the earth we stand on is hurtling through space at something like 60,000 mph!
Love your comment: Balance is not a steady state. It's up and down, back and forth. So true!
I have to remind myself a lot because I so want to be steady state!
